(YORK, Pa) — TransGard LLC, a leading provider of animal-deterrent solutions to substations, announced today that Scott Barbee has joined the company as its Director of Services.
In his new position, Barbee will establish a national service network, oversee production, installations, and services, manage 3 rd -party installation technicians, and more across TransGard’s entire territory.
Barbee brings more than 20 years of experience in national and global service and supply chain management. His past positions include Supply Chain Director, Director of Sales and Operational Planning, and Director of Manufacturing Services, among others. His base of operation will be in York,
Pennsylvania.
TransGard provides proven animal-deterrent systems for the power distribution industry and other critical utility sectors. The company manufactures the only patented substation fencing that deters climbing animals by delivering a mild, non-lethal electric shock.
TransGard is also the exclusive distributor of the high-tech Laser Bird Defense, which uses a concentrated beam of light to prevent birds from entering or roosting in electrical substations and other sites.

TransGard has been protecting the electric power generation industry from animal incursions since the early 1990s, and in recent years has begun to expand animal-deterrent services into other sectors like manufacturing centers and the oil and gas industry.
