(YORK, Pa) — TransGard LLC, a leading provider of animal-deterrent solutions to substations, announced today that Scott Barbee has joined the company as its Director of Services.

In his new position, Barbee will establish a national service network, oversee production, installations, and services, manage 3 rd -party installation technicians, and more across TransGard’s entire territory.

His past positions include Supply Chain Director, Director of Sales and Operational Planning, and Director of Manufacturing Services, among others. His base of operation will be in York, Pennsylvania.

TransGard provides proven animal-deterrent systems for the power distribution industry and other critical utility sectors. The company manufactures the only patented substation fencing that deters climbing animals by delivering a mild, non-lethal electric shock.

TransGard is also the exclusive distributor of the high-tech Laser Bird Defense, which uses a concentrated beam of light to prevent birds from entering or roosting in electrical substations and other sites.

“We’re excited to gain Scott’s broad experience and passion for solving demanding customer requirements, building businesses, and establishing partnerships,” said Greg Freeman, TransGard’s CEO. “He has a proven track record of improving efficiencies in the areas of supply chain, logistics, and far beyond, all of which I know will benefit our customers. We look forward to his contributions and continued success with our team.”

TransGard has been protecting the electric power generation industry from animal incursions since the early 1990s, and in recent years has begun to expand animal-deterrent services into other sectors like manufacturing centers and the oil and gas industry.
